Who wants to change for being Perfect????

Not me

I am not striving to be perfect. I just want to be me.

I, in all realistic ways possible know my flaws and I can count them and make a long bulleted list... but hey!!! thats what makes me ME and Yes, I am big on the word or lets say a person called "ME"... it has taken 27 years to be what I am and I say thats a lot of handwork..

Changing to be better is acceptable but changing for the sake of being perfect and to fit into somebody else's notion of perfect is something I mind a lot.

I don't say that I have never changed, I most definitely have but such changes were gradual and not forced upon me hence they never bothered me. Changing is something I believe happens in the due course of things, you can not decide one fine morning that from today onwards you will stop liking rains or you will lose interest in shopping or you will start liking the stupid Karela ( Bitter Gourd) and stop liking all the fried junk :)

I am not perfect and I do not want to be one... my imperfections make be special, quirky and interesting... perfection is boring and highly over rated.

On second thoughts, I am PERFECT the way I am.... What say????

What do you think of perfection and change??

P.S: Did you notice, I started with a question and ended with another and my conclusion to the post has  completely contradicted my answer to the title of the post...anyways take care and see you later :)

P.P.S: By the way, many of you asked about my paintings and how they can be colored with coffee. Check out my previous posts regarding My Art  and my FACEBOOK page for more details and updates.

  1. Very well said, we are probably perfect the way we are! I'm a perfectionist which makes me do things all or nothing. So if I do something it will be perfect, or I don't do it at all. Invariably, the latter happens more often :D I'm trying to be more easy on myself these days.

    1. I think your desire to do things to the best of your abilities makes YOU what YOU are and describes You, so that is simply you being you hence you being perfect...so do not change :)

  3. I tend to move towards perfection, though, perfection in itself is such an abstract concept that it intrigues me to date. I enjoy being who I am, I keep going back and forth to my original and present form :)

    1. one really needs to enjoy what one is...you should be your idea of perfect and not somebody else's idea of a perfect you :)

    1. We definitely need to work upon us to be better then what we are, but that feeling should come from within and not because other's think you need to change :) :) Chintan put it rightly that she enjoys bieng who she is and I think that is what we need to do :) :)

    1. Perfection is definitely a subjective topic :) and I as I said any change is gradual and it should be your desire to better yourself and make necessary changes/adaptations
and yes, if somebody else has a problem with you then its their problem and they can take a hike for all we care :) :) :)

  6. Well said!! I cannot agree more to what you said here. My flaws and qualities is what makes me unique & not somebody else. If I think that something in me should be changed,I will make an attempt;if I am changing my self on my own, for somebody special I love is also fine but I will never ever change myself only cause somebody else wants me to bring in a change in myself :)

    1. You know what..me and my husband often discuss that almost 5 years of marriage has still not changed us much as who we are..we firmly believe that you can not really change yourself just because you are in love or you are married...all that you do is include some more things to your life which are different to you... and those who give up on being what they truly are become too frustrated with their lives

  7. Great post! I'm not perfect and don't claim to be, I'm just me! :) Completely agree, we are all perfect representations of ourselves and we don't need to try change for anything!

  8. Can adjustments be considered as change?. Sometimes I feel that I am changing way too fast (adjusting ) for the people around me...parents, fiance,to-be-in-laws...today I am not what I was 3 years back infact, I am loosing my individuality, identity and I am helpless...I have 2 be perfect for everyone around, to be able to hold their high expectations on my shoulders...

    1. I believe that carrying the burden of other's expectations can only be done for a little while...everybody has to make little adjustments but then one also needs to communicate about what one is...we simply can not have a complete changeover and then be happy, both these things in my opinion do not work

  13. I believe perfection is impossible to attain, when it comes to work related issues I believe it's important to at least try then the worst you can come off is near perfection. On a personal level of me as a human being and how I look I would say that I have come to accept and admire what some may say are my imperfections, if we had know imperfections we would all be generic, imperfections make us who we are :) x

  16. Thanks for this wonderful inspiring post. Reading it somehow made me feel better about the unrealistic idea of 'perfection'. You are so right on all your points, you are perfect the way you are and should never change to fit someone else's notion of what 'perfect' is. Love the quote!

  21. Perfection is boring, unrelateable and impossible! I say impossible because it's an inherent part of human nature to never be content with what we have...whenever we do reach the level of what we previously considered as 'perfect', chances are we already want more! Although I will say that this was a perfect reminder :)

  26. I agree with you. I guess people have different definitions for the word 'perfect'. Different as in, they think perfect means to be a know-it-all and a do-it-all kind of a person. That is not perfection. You've defined it quite well :)
