Oath to hit the Gym

Well this post is no where close to the past few artsy posts I have been writing.
All this sitting on my ass and working on my designs and art work has taken a toll on my body and clothes ( both are equally important to me hence I talk about them in the same sentence)

Anyways, coming to the point, I designed and got stitched some dresses and tunics for myself when I went home this September and to my most horrible surprise they no more fit me. I have got a huge tummy hanging out :(  and now I am depressed... i mean seriously, I do want to buy more clothes but not in bigger sizes.....god!!! I even hate to say it, let alone do so :(

Hence, I have decided to hit the gym and control my diet.
Now both these tasks are extremely difficult for me. I am too lazy to go to a gym and I love food too much to control what I eat.... but for the Love of all things CLOTHES I Will Do It.

I am putting all this on a public forum to create a challenge for my self which will be in the public eye because I would HATE to lose and being humiliated (a little exaggeration will take me a long way :)) in public eye hence every morning the mere thought of failing will take me to the gym and eat right

So here it is....

"I Purvi Verma Saini, solemnly declare that I will be regularly exercising in the gym and control my diet on a regular basis and keep account of all the progress I make."

Wish Me Luck :)
and do tell me about your silly/weird/realistic oaths and their outcomes....

  5. Oh this sounds horribly familiar....I can sympathize!

I found that portion controlled helped me massively. When I moved in with my boyfriend a few years ago, I was cooking so still eating the food I loved but just in much bigger sizes to match his! Now I consciously try and eat controlled portion sizes. I can still eat the things I love, but just in slightly better moderation! I didn't weigh myself as I felt I could become obsessive, but judged it on how my clothes fit me.

Good luck with your challenge and good for you. I'm sure you'll feel great for it too! :) xx

@Sarah: This topic is such a global one :)... thanks for the tip and I also do not look at weighing scale, i think clothes are a better judge for weight loss/fitness :)

  18. Good Luck! I'm trying to be better myself and it is hard to be motivated. Something that has actually helped me was to have a workout buddy. I go to the gym with my cousin and we have set times to go like 3 times a week. And it's been working out! Thanks for your sweet comment :)

  20. Good luck. I actually started a 60-day challenge a few weeks ago. (See http://bit.ly/vXtsqA). I'm about halfway, and though I started off not as well as I'd hoped, I've been doing so much better lately. Good luck. It's definitely not that terrible when you get into a rhythm. Well, except for the soreness. That part never stops sucking.
